2021 November Second Week - Stock Market NEWS

Domestic equity benchmarks ended with robust gains on Friday, snapping a three-day losing streak. The Nifty settled at 18,102.75 mark while S&P BSE Sensex at 60686.69.

 PSU banks and media stocks corrected while IT and realty stocks rallied.

Tech Mahindra (up 4.06%), HDFC (up 2.99%), Infosys (up 2.74%) and Reliance Industries (up 1.47%) boosted the indices.

Broader indices lagged the benchmarks. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.57% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index rose 0.25%.

1) Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) will be exiting the shale gas business in North America as an agreement was inked on November 8 to sell off the assets linked to its subsidiary Reliance Eagleford Upstream Holding, LP (REUHLP) in Eagleford shale play. 


2) TVS Motor, India's third largest two-wheeler maker, is in talks with a clutch of global private equity investors to raise $300-500 million (Rs 2,220-3,700 crore) for its electric vehicle subsidiary at a valuation of $3.5-4 billion.

TVS Motor Company announced that the company has joined the United Nations Global Compact. It will now support the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.

3) SpiceJet launched a new scheme under which passengers will be able to pay for tickets in three, six or 12 instalments. "As part of the launch offer, customers will be able to enjoy three months EMI option at no additional cost (no interest)," the airline said. To avail the EMI scheme, passengers need to provide basic details like PAN number, Aadhar number or VID and verify it with a one-time password, it mentioned.

4) Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) will go ahead and finalise plans to set up of a Rs 18,000 crore new manufacturing facility in Haryana before the end of this calendar year with the state government reducing the gross salary cap to Rs 30,000 per month in its 75 per cent job reservation policy for locals, company Chairman RC Bhargava said on Monday.

Maruti Suzuki has launched (10 Nov 2021) the new version of Celerio in India, priced between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 6.94 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

5) Shriram Group has revived plans to restructure its various financial services businesses, which include lending and insurance, by collapsing its two listed units into one and reverse merging the holding company into it, while spinning out insurance into a separate entity, said multiple people aware of the developments. The group however denied any such development, calling it speculation. Morgan Stanley and ICICI Securities are advising Shriram Capital, the unlisted holding company of the group.

6) Inox Wind has bagged a 150 MW wind power project order from NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. The project will help NTPC NSE 2.30 % achieve its target of having over 60 GW renewable energy capacity, constituting nearly 50 per cent of the company's overall power generation capacity by 2032. It will be executed on a turnkey basis at Dayapar site in Kutch district Gujarat, and is scheduled to be commissioned by April 2023.

7) JBM Auto has received order for supply of 200 Air Conditioned Fully Built Low Floor Electric Buses of 12 Meter Length for Delhi Transport Corporation under Govt. of India Flagship Fame II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicle) Policy.

8) Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd said its board has approved raising of up to Rs 1,000 crore through the issuance of nonconvertible debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis. These will be issued on a private placement basis, in one or more series/tranches.

9) Zydus Cadila has received an order to supply one crore doses of ZyCoV-D, the world’s first Plasmid DNA Vaccine, to the Government of India at Rs. 265 per dose and the needle-free applicator being offered at Rs. 93 per dose, excluding GST. The pricing has been decided in consultation with the Government of India.

 ZyCoV-D is the first DNA plasmid vaccine in the world for human use, developed indigenously by the company against the Covid-19 virus. It is also the first COVID-19 vaccine which is needle-free and administered using The PharmaJet, a needle free applicator to ensure painless intradermal vaccine delivery which also leads to a significant reduction in any kind of major side effects.

10) Future Retail: The National Company Law Tribunal has put on hold a shareholders meeting of Future Retail that was proposed to be held later this month, as per a media report.

11) SJVN bagged a 100-MW grid-connected solar PV power project from the Punjab State Power Corporation on build own and operate basis.

12) Larsen & Toubro announced that the company has secured significant orders valued in the range of Rs 1000 crore to Rs 2500 crore across two of its businesses in India.

L&T Technology Services Ltd (LTTS) has entered into an agreement with Microsoft Corp. to offer LTTS’ Energy & Sustainability Manager solution on Microsoft Azure to digitally transform and create sustainable factories of the future. T

13) Tata Motors has signed a retail finance Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank of India (BOI) to offer finance options to all its passenger vehicle customers.

Under the partnership, BOI will provide loans to Tata Motors’ customers at an interest rate starting from as low as 6.85 per cent, the company said in a statement.

14) Kotak Mahindra Bank has increased home loan rates by around 5 basis points (bps).

15) The RBI has lifted restrictions on Diners Club International and allowed it to onboard new domestic customers.

PM Narendra Modi will launch two initiatives of the RBI, the retail direct scheme and the integrated ombudsman scheme, on Friday.

16) General Electric announced plans to divide itself into three public companies focused on aviation, healthcare and energy.

17) Vedanta announced the delisting of its American Depository Shares from the New York Stock Exchange at the close of trading on Monday.

18) Union Bank of India announced the appointment of Sameer Shukla, Joint Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services as the Government Nominee Director of the Bank.

19) FSN E-commerce (the parent company of Nykaa) made its debut on the stock markets on 10th November. It opened the day at Rs 2,018 on NSE, up 79% from the issue price of Rs 1,125 per share. The shares of FSN E-commerce closed the day with 96.07% gains at Rs 2,205.80. The company’s market capitalization crossed Rs 1 lakh crore.

20) IPO Corner: 

 a) Paytm IPO was subscribed 1.89 times at the end of Day 3 of bidding. The IPO received bids for 9.14 crore shares against an offer of 4.84 crore shares.

 b) Sapphire IPO was subscribed 6.62 times at the end of Day 3 of bidding. The IPO received bids for 6.39 crore shares against an offer of 96.63 lakh shares.

 c) Latentview IPO was subscribed 326.49 times at the end of Day 3 of bidding. The IPO received bids for 572.18 crore shares against an offer of 1.75 crore shares.

 d) Fino Payments Bank lists at 5.72% discount at Rs 544 per share on the NSE.

21) Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and two other public sector oil firms will install 22,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations over the next 3-5 years to support the nation's target to reduce its carbon intensity and reach net zero emissions by 2070.

22) Dixon Technologies has entered into a joint venture agreement with Beetel Teletech to form a JV company called Dixon Electro Appliances.

23) Bandhan Bank: ICRA has downgraded the rating outlook on Bandhan Bank from ‘stable’ to ‘negative’.

24) Adani Green has set a target of achieving 45 gw of renewable energy capacity by 2030. It will invest $20 billion in renewable energy development over the next decade.

25) Adani Transmission is planning to increase its share of renewable power procurement from the current 3% to 30% by financial year 2023 and to 70% by FY 2030.

26) HDFC plans to raise Rs 3,000 crore by issuing secured, redeemable NCDs on a private placement basis.

27) ITC Hotels has signed its first property in Udaipur under its Mementos by ITC Hotels brand. Mementos, the company's luxury brand, has signed Ekaaya, Udaipur, as its first property in the country. The property is spread over 106 acres and will have 130 rooms and will be managed by Mementos.

28) Zomato Ltd. has a new plan of action as the company is turning towards a platform play and will invest $1 billion in various startups over the next two years, founder and chief executive Deepinder Goyal wrote in a company blog.

29) Avenue Supermarts Ltd, which owns and operates retail chain DMart, has bought retail space in Bengaluru for Rs 88.25cr, according to documents accessed by real estate data and analytics firm Propstack.

30) The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the deadline for implementation of the new broadcast sector tariff regulations, commonly known as NTO 2.0, from December 1st to April 1st, next year. As per the revised timelines, the new channel and bouquet pricing for consumers will come into effect on April 1, 2022.

31) HCL Technologies announced the launch of its apprenticeship programme in the US, focused on hiring high school graduates for full-time technology jobs.

32) Yes Bank: Moody’s has upgraded Yes Bank‘s rating to B2 from B3 and changed outlook to ‘positive’.

33) Bharti Airtel has partnered with the US-based Mavenir Systems for open radio access network (OpenRAN)-based fifth generation or 5G field trials in the mmWave and mid band at Chandigarh, reaffirming telco's commitment to open technology approach. Airtel will undertake 5G trials with Mavenir in Chandigarh tri-city in coming weeks in the 3500 MHz and millimeter wave (mmWave) bands.

34) JSW Paints, part of the USD 13 billion JSW Group, aims to achieve its goal of a Rs 1,000 crore revenue in the current fiscal year, on the back of strong economic recovery and improved demand conditions.

35) Vodafone Idea reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 7,132.3 crore for the quarter ended September.

The company had reported a net loss of Rs 7,319 crore in the previous quarter. Consolidated revenue from operations stood at Rs. 9,406.4 crore. Vodafone Idea’s Average Revenue Per Used (ARPU) jumped 4.8% on-quarter to Rs 109.

The stock closed the day 4.57% higher at Rs 10.30. The results were announced at around 3:20 PM.

Vodafone Idea is reportedly in talks with the State Bank of India (SBI) for fresh loans.

36) ZEE has initiated legal proceedings against RailTel Corporation of India. ZEE mentioned that RailTel has terminated the agreement with its subsidiary for providing media content in trains.

37) Tata Consumer Products will acquire Tata SmartFoodz Limited (TSFL) from its group firm Tata Industries for a cash consideration of Rs 395 crore.
